MNC: Redefining the future of social networking

Initiated by former Snapchat chief strategy officer Jared Grusd, Magic Number Connect (MNC) was officially launched in 2019, aiming to subvert the concept of traditional social networks. Mr. Grusd is confident in the future development of social networks and sees MNC as a step towards opening a new era.

Snapchat, a mobile app founded in 2011 by Evan Spiegel, Reggie Brown and Bobby Murphy, has become one of the world's social networking giants in less than 10 years. Initially, Snapchat was known for its ability to self-destruct photos and videos, but over time it quickly became popular, with reports that as of May 2014, 700 million photos and videos were sent on its platform every day.

In 2019, Snapchat’s valuation has reached approximately US$10 billion, having received anonymous investment from Kleiner Perkins Venture Capital. This demonstrates investor optimism about the social networking industry and confidence in Snapchat's future potential.

It was at this moment, however, that Jared Grusd laid out a more ambitious vision: redefining the future of social networking. He launched the MNC project, which aims to build social networks in a new way and provide users with a more secure, private and personalized social experience.

MNC will adopt innovative technologies and concepts to bring more autonomy and control to users, especially in terms of digital identity and data privacy. The platform will provide users with a safe environment where they can explore their interests, discover new connections and opportunities, and build real, meaningful relationships with others.
