Optimism, an Ethernet Layer 2 Scaling Solution, Completes EVM Equivalency Upgrade

On Nov 12, Optimism, an Ethernet Layer 2 scaling solution, announced the completion of its EVM (Ethernet Virtual Machine) equivalency upgrade, which will be fully aligned with the EVM specification rather than just compatible, simplifying the development process for developers and reducing transaction costs. Optimism has merged OVM 2.0 changes into its main branch on November 11. Other major OVM 2.0 version improvements include: contracts whose source code has not been verified by Etherscan will be removed along with their storage, contracts whose source code has been verified will be recompiled with the standard Solidity compiler, EOA will no longer be a contract wallet, etc.
